Leather Machine Guide

COBRA CLASS 18

The Cobra Class 18 flatbed is the heavier of the so called “light duty” machines. It’s a great machine and uses a compound needle feed that will sew up to about 3/8˝ with thread up to and including 207. But 207 is the very top of the range. The Class 18 is good for fabrics, tarps, all sorts of upholstery work, lighter belts, straps, wallets, chaps, and small flat goods. A positive feature is that it has a protective safety (throw-out) clutch to prevent you from knocking the machine out of time. It’s easily put back in place when needed, and the machine is quite user friendly.
