LEATHER... IT'S WHAT WE DO BEST! Leather can be sold in several different ways; by the square foot, by the piece, by the side, hide, skin, and even by the pound. We want to make it easy for you. You can buy most (not quite all) of our leathers that are sold by the square foot, in pretty much any size you want. This allows you to just buy pretty much what you need instead of being forced to buy a lot of extra leather that might take months or even years to use, and it leaves you with more money to spend on rivets, glue, and other things that you really need. The Leather Conversion Chart shown here should give you a pretty good idea of general leather thicknesses. How Do I Choose The Weight of Leather I Need? Deciding what weight of leather you need really depends on the project! Leather is extremely versatile and there are no set rules...especially when it comes to personal preferences. What one person uses to make a wallet or a belt, another person might use for a handbag. Leather is as individual and unique as the person working with it. That being said, this is a very general list of common uses for some popular weights of veg. tanned leather.
