Buffalo Belt Blanks For those of you who have no way to punch, or just hate punching that stupid slot, these blanks are skived at the buckle end and have pre- punched holes for your snaps or chicago screws. Also available with with Premium Line 20 Baby Dot Snaps attached! Buffalo hide strips 48"+ long. Cut from 8–10 oz hides, most are 9 oz in weight. Somewhat vintage looking, very strong with just a slight stretch! Available in 5 colors.

“Assistant Manager Wanted”. So I applied... and that evening I got a call from the manager telling me that I had the job. I was pretty happy about that! Now, with all this having been said, there was a lot more that could be told! During this time I became enmeshed in the legal system, because of being involved with a number of substanc- es that law enforcement sort of frowned on. So to make a long story short, I changed my life and my priorities and started focus- ing the more important things. So during the day I worked for Tandy, and at night I did leatherwork for money. The 2.95 per

hour that tandy paid, really wasn’t conducive to the accumulation of wealth! After 6 months of training, the company offered me the Battle Creek Michigan store, which I turned down. After 3 more months, they offered me the Rochester Minnesota store, which I accepted. Pay was not much better, although there was the prospect of a bonus at the end of the year, which just never amounted to anything. But my doing leather work at home after work was good enough to keep us going. After 2 years in Rochester, the company offered me the Fargo, North Dakota store. I told them they were nuts, but the regional manager was a better salesman than me, so he convinced me that I should take it. So I did, and spent the next five years taking that store to the top of the region in sales volume. It was a pretty good time for me, as long as I kept doing leather work after hours. If I had a dollar for every knife sheath that I made, I think I could buy an island! (continued page 101)
